What is Holocaust Education Week?

Presented by the Toronto Holocaust Museum, Neuberger Holocaust Education Week (HEW) is an annual event that offers Holocaust education programming across Canada. Throughout the month of November, students and the general public can engage with Holocaust history through events that offer powerful learning opportunities.

Holocaust Education Week resources for students

The Holocaust Survivor Memoirs Program has educational materials for middle and high school students created for classroom use. Our education team also offers student programs and teacher training sessions throughout the year.

Join Jody Spiegel (Director, Holocaust Survivor Memoirs Program, Azrieli Foundation) and Alex Maws (Association of Jewish Refugees, London, UK) in a wide-ranging conversation about the urgency of Holocaust education in today’s world with a particular emphasis on recognizing and confronting contemporary antisemitism.

Free books and educational materials

We help teachers bring the subject of the Holocaust into their classrooms, using first-person narratives as a way for students to connect with the history of the Holocaust through survivors’ experiences. Our Holocaust survivor memoirs, educational resources and programming are free of charge and available in both French and English.
