Submissions

Are you a Holocaust survivor who came to Canada after the war? Have you written your own story? Do you know a survivor who has written a memoir? We’d like to read it.

Our call for submissions is for memoirs and diaries, handwritten or typed, in any language.

All of the memoirs we publish are written by Holocaust survivors themselves. Our goal remains to share and preserve the voices of survivors themselves, for as long as this is possible.

About Us

The Holocaust Survivor Memoirs Program was established by the Azrieli Foundation in 2005 to collect, preserve and share the memoirs and diaries written by survivors of the Holocaust who came to Canada.

For 20 years we have been connecting students and educators to first-person stories. We have published more than 150 memoirs, in English and in French, and have distributed more than 1 million free books to schools across Canada.

We ensure that survivors’ voices continue to reach new generations, inspiring learning and reflection. Through our work, their stories are not only preserved — they are given life.
