Writing Partners
Our volunteer writing partners are people of different ages, life stages and religious, cultural and education backgrounds. They share the desire to learn more about the Holocaust and support survivors in telling their stories in the manner that was meaningful to them.
From the beginning, I felt privileged to be part of Sustaining Memories, but as I met and heard the stories of the survivors I worked with, that sense of privilege grew and grew. Not only was I able to meet and assist three individuals in contributing to an essential living record of this important event in history, but I also found them to be strong, resourceful, intelligent people who have all since contributed enormously to this country. By surviving such atrocity, they are living testimony to the inevitable, ultimate failure of tyranny and hatred. To have assisted them in telling their stories has been more meaningful to me than any words here can express. Thank you, Irving, Morris and Lisa, and thank you, Elin and staff of the Sustaining Memories project.
