Martha Salcudean was born in Cluj, Romania, in 1934. During the Nazi occupation, Martha and her family were confined in two ghettos in Hungary and then deported to the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp. They were later released to Switzerland. After the war, Martha lived in Romania. She and her husband immigrated to Canada in 1976 and lived in Montreal and Ottawa before settling in Vancouver. Martha Salcudean is the author of In Search of Light.
