750 Spadina Avenue

Hidden away underground, in a box, twelve-year-old Molly Applebaum has only her older cousin and her diary to keep her company. For two years, she writes of her confinement “in a grave”: the cold, dark and stuffiness, the unbearable suffering from insufficient food, and the complicated reliance on the two farmers who are risking their own lives to save her. Pages from Molly’s diary, which was published by the Azrieli Foundation along with her memoir, Buried Words, will be featured in The Unknowable, an exhibit that showcases artifacts that tell previously untold stories of the Holocaust. Visit the Neuberger website for additional information about the significance of each item featured in this collection.
